Designer Liz Logie launched her new Rodeo Collection of luxury women’s shirts at a February 19th personal appearance at Neiman Marcus in The Galleria in Houston. And she will take the show on the road to the Neiman Marcus in NorthPark Center in Dallas on March 27th.
Liz, known for her unique prints and finely crafted women’s apparel, created the new collection exclusively for Neiman Marcus in Texas, and it made its debut in Houston.
The Rodeo Collection includes six prints mixing varied colorful backgrounds with iconic symbols of cowboy life. One design features handmade cowboy boots stamped over a classic aqua-and-white shirting stripe, another combines a pink plaid background with a cowboy on a bucking bronco.
“What I love about these prints is they are whimsical yet stylish, and make a definite fashion statement,” Liz said. “And I love the versatility. You can pair the shirt with black pants and heels for a night out or with jeans and boots for a barbecue.”
She had been mulling the idea since her last personal appearance in Texas and then shared the concept with her favorite fabric designer in Como, Italy. “And lo and behold he had several fabulous Western prints in his vast archives, including one with a cowboy waving the Texas state flag. I knew right then and there the Rodeo Collection was meant to be.”
The shirts are available in one of Liz’ classic designs, the Meghan, a three-quarter sleeved shirt with contrast at the collar and cuffs. This collection also includes a new Western-style cut, with snaps, a yoke in the back and contrast piping. The fabric is Italian cotton with a little stretch for comfort. The shirts, and all of Liz’ products, are proudly made in the USA.
Liz created her line in 2002, setting out to design a classic button-down shirt for women reminiscent of the finest English shirtings for men. She chose exquisite European cottons in vibrant colors and unique prints, finished with distinctive trim and antique buttons. The smart-and-sexy button down was an instant success and the Liz Logie line took off. She joined the roster of premier designers at Neiman Marcus in 2006.
A graduate of Yale University, Georgetown School of Law and the Fashion Institute of Technology, Liz practiced corporate law before becoming a designer. Balancing a career and three children, Liz knows that her customers are busy, stylish gals who want to invest in classics with a twist. Or, to quote her label, “be elegant, be sexy, and by all means, be unique.”
The Rodeo Collection does all that, with a Texas twist.
